Hackenwerth’s Wearable under construction

Jason Hackenwerth’s sophisticated use of latex balloons to create massive installations is known internationally. Hackenwerth translates this work into mobile sculptures with his Wearables. Hackenwerth has created a NEW Wearable for Art31, which will debut at the Florida Film Festival’s Opening Night Party! (See the Enzian’s website for tickets.)

Featured Artist: Jason Hackenwerth, “It Tasted Like Lead” – Recognized by museums, galleries, and the arts media across the world for his sculptural latex balloon installations across the world, Jason Hackenwerth will transform Gallery 3 with his organic and biological forms utilizing hundreds of balloons. Hackenwerth studied the Savannah College of Art and Design and Webster University, St. Louis, MO. He is a past recipient of a Pollack-Krasner grant and has received acclaim throughout the international art world for his work at Art Basel and many museums from New York to Edinburgh. Hackenwerth’s latex sculptures provide a vivid juxtaposition with Chihuly’s glass works. In addition to his gallery installation at the A&H’s Maitland Art Center, Hackenwerth will also translate his work into wearable mobile sculptures. The Wearables will pop up in guerrilla style mini-exhibitions across Orange County throughout Art31.
